Japan

Let’s go to Tokyo!

We had the choice between taking the train or the bus to Tokyo. We chose the bus very quickly because the station is next to the hotel, the price is reasonable compared to the train, 1800 yen and the trip is less than 2 hours.

A piece of advice: if you are in Tokyo and you need even a day of quietness, spend a day or two at least on the side of Mount Fuji, it’s worth it, do it. It’s like if you were in Brussels and you wanted to spend your day at the sea…

We finally arrive at the station of Shinjuku, a huge station! We realize it by going down in the anthill which is in the galleries! Our hotel, Aurora is located in Ikebukuro.

It is in 3 steps that we find our way! Understand how the subway system works, JR line etc…

Find the ATM to pay for the ride.
And find the way to our JR Yamanote line. What a mess!

I must admit that I didn’t miss the city at all. The stress on top of the noise and the world already in normal time, it’s hard. But then in a megalopolis as that one, do not speak to me about it.
We end up finding our line JR after half an hour.

20 min later, we are finally in our mini room in Ikebukuro. I say mini but we are not in a bed capsule! Found on airbnb, at a relatively correct price.

It is composed of the bare minimum, but complete. Bed, fridge, kettle, shower cubicle, sink with mirror, toilet and everything you need to wash yourself, shower gel, shampoo etc… But you can barely stand upright in the room. It’s clear that, compared to the luxury room we had at the Highland…, It’s really different 🙂 !

We refresh ourselves and we go out also early to locate the immediate surroundings.

We stop in an Indian restaurant whose smells of curry guided us to him.

We are preparing our visit to the imperial palace for tomorrow.

À demain,

Ninve

I have a little airbnb code here for you.
