Hello, friends,
I’d like to let you know that soon, we (namely Sébastien, Laurent, Marlon, and myself) will be heading to the Philippines for five weeks, from October 4 to November 5, 2010.
We have lots of plans and places to explore. The idea is to tour Luzon, the northern island, visit the famous Mount Pinatubo volcano, check out the U.S. military base at Subic Bay, and especially Banaue and its 8th wonder of the world… We’ll take some time to relax at Hidden Valley (naturally heated pools right in the middle of the jungle!). We’ll take a few package tours to some paradise islands (Puerto Gallera, Coron Island, Palawan, the Hundred Islands, and maybe Bohol). Especially the fabulous Boracay, where we’ll stay for at least five days.
In short, we’ll immerse ourselves in the local cultures and meet the locals. And finally, Modesta, of course—the village of Marlon’s extended family, which is waiting for us with a big celebration, complete with lechon pinoy. I’ll let you figure out what that is…
This blog will let you follow our journey as it unfolds, see that we’re doing well (if you’re interested, of course), and give us a chance to share plenty of photos…
