Zanzibar

Hakuna matata !

Do you know the Spice Island?

This island with its thousand and one spicy scents that remind us that the end of year holidays are approaching?

It’s Zanzibar, this island is an integral part of Tanzania, even in the name of the country.

I have only set foot on African soil once in my life so far. In 2001, Egypt, for the graduation trip. I have a memorable memory of a cruise on the Nile. It’s about time I returned to this continent.

Even if it’s only for one island. This island! Imagine…Thinking of this island brings back images of turquoise water and a bright white sandbar. This paradisiacal island with its own fauna and flora. Just beautiful images.

But Zanzibar is not just that. This island has known many desires and torments for a long time. Both for its geographical position and for what it can produce.

This trip, booked since July, comes at the right time at the beginning of the cold season in Belgium. A week of vacation, a week to discover Freddie Mercury’s birth island.

Our bungalow is located in Miramont Retreat Zanzibar, in the northeast of the island, Kilima Juu Pwani village. 9-hour flight with Tuifly company without any problems. We land at 8:45 pm at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, we have arranged in advance a transfer via the hotel which is 1H30 from the airport. Basically this transfer was supposed to cost 35 dollars but as the hotel has to pick up other people, finally the cost of the transfer will be reduced by more than half. A journey that starts very well. Your devoted Ninve,

Stars in the sky, 30°C, good cocktails, friendly people. What more could you ask for?
